Did you just get the new Windows 7 and are still not familiar with a lot of things? Well, Windows 7 interface is definitely a little different from its predecessors. If you are bored with the default background image and wondering how to change it, here are some simple steps. Also, you will be glad to know that Windows 7 has some animated themes, which change the screen background periodically depending upon the time interval you have chosen.
To change the desktop background, simply go the Windows Desktop (the default screen and not the desktop folder) first. If you have many windows open, you don’t need to close all of them or minimize them all one by one. Instead, just press Windows Key + D to show the desktop. You can also take the mouse pointer to the extreme right of the Task Bar (just next to the system tray by the edge of the screen). The mouse hover over it, the desktop will appear temporarily. However, if you will click on it, it will minimize all the windows bringing up the desktop.
Right click on the desktop screen and click on the ‘Personalize’ option at the bottom of the pop-up menu. It will take you to the screen titled, ‘Change the Visuals and Sounds on your computer.’ Here you will see different options to change the theme and desktop backgrounds. You can select one of the Window’s high-quality images or choose one of your own photos saved on the hard disk drive. You can also change the contrast themes on this screen.
